Dr. Burke’s research seeks to improve transitions of care for vulnerable populations; these efforts have been supported by funding from the VA, the NIH, and the Hartford Foundation. He has also published and presented nationally on the impact of recent post-acute care reforms on older adults, and is interested in identifying ways to leverage research and policy to enhance outcomes for this population. Dr. Burke has experience with largescale dissemination and implementation projects and quality improvement efforts, serving as the primary mentor for a Chief Residency in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and as an Associate Editor for BMJ Quality & Safety. He completed medical school at Stanford University and internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
