Marie's joy is to transform people's lived experiences into meaningful action and concrete change.

Her work includes infants, children and families, college students, grandparents raising grandchildren, older adults, communities of color, persons experiencing homelessness, and geographic comparisons.

Throughout her work, Marie continuously heard, "I just want people to hear my story." In her response, Marie promised that she would share their stories with others. Marie remains dedicated to continuing her work in creating meaningful change in the lives of the American people, ensuring that people's lived experiences and voices translate into policy.

Marie received her Ph.D. in Sociology from North Carolina State University and her B.A. and M.A. in Sociology/ Applied Sociology from the University of Central Florida.
