How To Apply

We welcome your application to become a Health and Aging Policy Fellow!

Please follow the steps below:

Determine if this is the right time for you to apply:
The fellowship is a meaningful but time-intensive commitment. Residential Fellows are expected to maintain a full-time placement schedule, while Non-Residential Fellows commit at least one day per week, in addition to a 4–5 week orientation. Please take time to consider whether this is the right moment for you to pursue this opportunity before applying.
Ensure Approval:
Ensure you have approval from your institution to apply for the fellowship.
Complete your application using the Application Checklist and Instructions. Please email your completed application as one PDF document to hapfell@nyspi.columbia.edu. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Submit Completed Application:
Submit your completed application per the application checklist and instructions in step 2. Applications are due by April 15 (or following Monday if 15th falls on a weekend). Incomplete applications will not be considered.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES FOR VA APPLICANTS:
VA applicants are required to secure approval from the VA prior to submitting an application. Details on VA application procedures may be found here.

Information Sessions

We suggest that you participate in one of the scheduled information sessions (via Zoom) about the program. View the information sessions schedule and register here during the HAPF recruitment cycle, which opens on November 15th.
