
Dr. Golden received his medical degree at the University of Miami and continued his training in Internal Medicine-Primary Care at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After several years on faculty at the University of Miami and the Miami VA Medical Center, he became the Medical Director for Geriatrics at Medco Health Solutions Inc. (formerly Merck-Medco, LLC). In 2002, Dr. Golden moved to Orlando, Florida to serve as a geriatrician and an Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Orlando Regional Medical Center. In 2007, he returned to the University of Miami and the Miami VA Medical Center. As a medical educator he received multiple teaching awards. He was also an investigator in the Miami VA’s Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC). Dr. Golden is a practicing clinician and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with board certifications in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is actively involved in medical student and graduate medical education, as well as multiple interprofessional student educational programs. His academic interests are in the development of home- and community-based models of care for frail older adults.
