
Laural “Laurie” Traylor, MSW, is a macro social worker with a career focus on healthcare disparities and equity, interventions, resources and policies that impact older adults, their families and caregivers. In her current role, she serves as national program manager for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) in OAA’s Centers of Excellence in Primary Care Education. This systems-based quality improvement initiative, based in the clinical workplace, has emphasis on advancing diverse interprofessional (IP) clinical faculty teams who lead the development of progressive, next generation IP healthcare professionals for VA and our communities. Laurie has additionally served in national and regional leadership roles in geriatrics and geriatric education, primary care and integration, women’s health, palliative care, telehealth, care coordination, family caregiving services, and as consultant in rural health and Integrated Ethics. Laurie currently acts as consultant to the national Deputy Chief Patient Care Services officer for VA’s office of Care Management and Social Work and has taught public policy coursework at California State University, Long Beach to graduate and undergraduate social work students.
