Dr. Thuc-Nhi Nguyen is a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Davis, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Nguyen is currently working on issues of global health and late-life depression-care, and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementias among older adults, focusing on environmental factors and social structures that contribute to these problems. She is also the principal investigator of a study funded by the Alzheimer's Association that is examining the risks of AD and dementia among older Vietnamese female nail salon technicians. Dr. Nguyen is coauthor of a number of articles in peer-reviewed publications dealing with the health, mental health, and cognitive health among older adult Asian immigrants and other disadvantaged minorities. Also, Dr. Nguyen is involved with nonprofit community organizations that contribute to the needs recent immigrant populations. Currently, she is the Deputy Executive Director of the Immigrant Resettlement & Cultural Center (IRCC) in San Jose, California.
