
Melissa Wachterman, MD, MPH, MSc is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Her primary appointment is at VA Boston Healthcare System, with secondary appointments at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is a practicing palliative care physician and health services researcher. Much of her research and advocacy focuses on aging and end-of-life care policy, with a particular focus on hospice policy. She works closely with national VA operational leaders in palliative care to conduct research that informs innovations in policy and practice to improve the quality of care for seriously-ill Veterans.
