Priti Patel, MD, MPH is an internist, preventive medicine physician, and applied epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She currently serves as Senior Advisor for Long COVID in the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. Priti has led nationwide efforts to prevent infections among dialysis patients, including as Medical Director of the Making Dialysis Safer for Patients Coalition, and participated in numerous public health emergency responses. She holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. Priti’s interests include public health and vulnerable populations, patient-centered care, interventions to advance health equity, and the Medicare ESRD program.

Priti is a co-chair of the HHS Long COVID Coverage, Access, and Policy Workgroup and editorial board member of AJPM Focus. She is a former Society of General Internal Medicine Leadership in Health Policy (LEAHP) scholar, former Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer, and current member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Healthcare Justice Committee.
