
Rebecca S. Crow, DO is a board-certified practicing Geriatrician and Director of Geriatrics at the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She is heavily invested in medical education serving as Geriatric Clerkship Director for the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Internal Residency Program as well as active faculty member for the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship. She has been an educator for medical students, physician assistants and serves an active faculty member for the WRJ Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Residency Program.
She worked collaboratively through her institution to achieve Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation through the American College of Emergency Physicians and IHI recognition as an Age Friendly Health System. She currently serves as the co-principal investigator for WeCare, a program that aims to improve caregiver awareness to support resources through the VA.
Her clinical focus surrounds fall and delirium prevention in vulnerable, frail older adults particularly those with cognitive impairment. She co-manages the geriatric inpatient and outpatient consultative service and pioneered a multidisciplinary falls prevention program at her institution. Improving how delirium best practices are delivered is also a prime focus for her through nursing and trainee education. She has been successful in implementing programs at her facility proven to reduce delirium risk while emphasizing the humanity of medicine and importance of what matters most to veterans.
