Andrea DuBrow, MSW, MPH directs Workforce Development Programs for the Bay Area Social Services Consortium, a partnership between UC Berkeley and eleven public human service agencies in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. She is a collaborative, creative, and thoughtful leader who possesses a deep understanding of the current landscape of public human services, the challenges facing local health and human service agencies, and the clients and communities they serve, along with emerging resources and opportunities. Andrea has delivered leadership development programs to over 300 public sector managers and has over a decade of teaching and mentoring experience with social work, public health and public policy graduate students at the UC Berkeley School of Social Welfare. She was named Honored Instructor by UC Extension and received the Faculty Mentor Award from UC Berkeley. Prior to this, Andrea worked with a local health department for ten years, directing a multi-million dollar multidisciplinary Health Care for the Homeless program, staffing a public and environmental health advisory board, and collaborating with private foundations and communities on a cross-jurisdictional public health initiative. Andrea currently serves on the board of California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform and is on the Leadership Council for the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long Term Care in Washington, D.C. She previously served as a California Department of Aging and Disability Resource Connection Advisory Board Member and was the co-founder of a family council in a long-term care facility. Her passion for the field of aging policy, caregiving, and dementia-related issues began as her mother’s sole advocate and caregiver for Alzheimer's disease, navigating every stage of the journey, including residential care during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
