
Dr. Yu is the Senior Director of Healthcare Workforce Policy at the Executive Office of Health and Human Services at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Her role is to provide strategic leadership for Massachusetts' efforts on healthcare and human sector workforce policy for the Secretariat and across the fifteen Health and Human Service departments. Prior to this position, she was the Director of Policy and Research for the Executive Office of Elder Affairs leading state efforts to support elders living in community including direct care workforce, caregiving, elder mental health, transportation, and elder economic justice issues. She received her doctorate from Boston College and focused her research on the state of Massachusetts direct care workforce, in particular the growing numbers of immigrant homecare workers. Concurrently, she is a licensed clinical social worker with advance practice experience in acute and community based settings. She was a Health and Aging Policy Fellow 2014-2015, where she worked as the lead policy analyst for the White House Conference on Aging (2015) and worked extensively with the White House Domestic Policy Council, federal agencies, local governments, and external stakeholders. Dr. Yu is also an adjunct professor at Boston College School of Social Work and University of Massachusetts, Boston.
