Rick Selvik, MPH, MSW is a Public Health Analyst in the Chicago Regional Office for the National Health Service Corps. He has a Master's Degree in Public Health and Social Work from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s Degree in Business from Lake Forrest Graduate School. He currently works with National Health Service Corps (NHSC) sites on reviewing applications and recertifications to ensure compliance with NHSC site requirements. Rick works with the recruitment and retention of physicians, dentists, and behavioral health clinicians in the NHSC and is the Regional State Lead for Minnesota and Wisconsin, working with the State Primary Care Offices. He is particularly interested in integrated primary health care for chronic care management for the aging. Previously, Rick worked for the Office of Performance Review as a Team Lead for the site reviews Federally Qualified Health Centers where he coordinated reviews as a team leader; completing grantee performance reviews with consultants and team members. He worked for eleven years with private and government employee assistance programs providing behavioral healthcare consultation services. Rick completed and published research studies on outcome measures on health status and productivity. When he was doing clinical work as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker he worked in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC); a private Employee Assistance Program, and a hospital inpatient mental health unit.
