Dr. William W. Hung is an Assistant Professor of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is also a physician investigator at the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) at James J Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, NY, and he currently serves as the acting Associate Director for Clinical at the GRECC.

As a fellowship trained geriatrician, his clinical and research interest lies in geriatric models of care to improve care delivery for older adults, notably the Mobile Acute Care for the Elderly Team model (MACE), an interdisciplinary geriatric team that acts as the primary team for care for older adults admitted to the hospital, and the GRECCConnect model, a multisite model to utilize telehealth means to extend geriatric consultation and education to rural sites without geriatric expertise. He also led the implementation of a care transition model enhanced by the use of a health information exchange, the Bronx Regional Health Information Organization. He was awarded a New Investigator Award from the American Geriatrics Society in 2011. He has also served as principal investigator for a number of peer reviewed grants, including the Mary and David Hoar Fellowship from the New York Academy of Medicine and a pilot project grant from the VA Health Services Research and Development Service.
