As the director of government grants and policy for the Jewish Healthcare Foundation (JHF) and its supporting organizations—the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative and Health Careers Futures—Robert Ferguson works on projects related to behavioral health, primary care, state and federal policy, care management, quality improvement, end-of-life, long-term services and supports, workforce, and grantmaking. In this role, Mr. Ferguson has managed projects that implemented evidence-based behavioral healthcare delivery models in 42 primary care offices through 12 organizations in Pennsylvania and that disseminated the service delivery model to three states. He also manages the Pennsylvania Health Funders Collaborative—a network of 37 foundations in Pennsylvania that works at the intersection of health philanthropy and policy—and an initiative to increase the capacity of behavioral healthcare agencies to collect, measure, and improve common measures. Mr. Ferguson provides support to JHF’s community health worker initiatives, fellowships for local graduate students, Health 2.0 Pittsburgh, internship programs, and a safety-net accountable care organization project. Mr. Ferguson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences in 2009 and is an MPH candidate at the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public Health’s Health Policy and Management Program.
